Birdy Num Num

This is a piece I did for a digital class we had and we got to print it out on the digital textile printer. So I scanned in birds that I drew before on wooden panels, also scanned in a tree and a bunch of leaves cut out of Japanese paper. Once it was all printed out I went and embroidered frames around the birds and also parts of the birds. Robin's belly, Top bird's under tail, and Red Wing Black Birds wing. I might go in again and add more to it but for now this is it!

Pillows

These are some pillows I made in first year. It had to be a dip-tick in some way so I made to pillows. The tree, interments, and shoes were drawn on scratch paper and then shot to silk screen. The animals and moon, stars, and sun were mylar stencils. I used a pigment stain for the back ground sky colour and the images were pigment. Also these are the pillows that I decided to duct taped together due to the fact that I did not have a sewing machine at the time. Jaime thinks I am weird because of it but I just think that I am a problem solver. Since then they have been sewed with a sewing machine and no duct tape remains.

Beards Beards All Types of Beards

I love beards and beards love me (they actually don't I need to find me a bearded man it is hard you would not think it would be since I am Sarah Davies but you know I cannot be good at everything.) So I love beards and Jade loves beards and has a beard party and this year was pretty excellent I think I wrote a blog about the other one if not I might add something) anyway this is my favourite party and this year I could not miss it and I sure did not miss it. I attended and I had one heck of a beard. It was dead Sexy and I am sad I had to "shave."

I made it out of roving and then put it together and shaped it and added it to my face with spirt gum. When it was on my face it was a bit patchy in the lower levels so I ended up dry felting (needle felting) it together to make it stronger and less holey. This turned out awesome and I did not prick my face which was good. Although I did tell people that I needle felted it onto my face, that was a lie and I did not nor should anyone do that. It would be painful!

A week before the beard party we were at The Interior Design Show in Toronto and there I saw my future husband although I did not talk to him. Anyway this is supposed to be about my art and not about my love life. So anyway I pretty much based my beard off of IDS's beard. I also am a big fan about the show Whisker Wars, a show about bearded men being beard diva's and growing great big bushy beards and traveling around showing them off and making Sarah turn into the chicken lady.

Twitter is an amazing site and has gotten me connected with many people like SIMON PEGG! and some of these Beardo Whisker Wars men. I twitted about how I should not be aloud to watch Whisker Wars since it turns me into the Chicken Lady and then I got a message back from one of the men on that show (a bearded man) Myk O'Connor. After the beard party happened I posted a picture up of me and my great big bushy beard and then Myk O'Connor retwitted my twit, and then THE DADDY of all beards JACK PASSION my other future husband replied to my tweet. JACK is the reining beard champion has approved my beard, seen my face and has fallen in love with me. The last statement might have been made up by me but we all know he was thinking it when he saw my picture. Simon Pegg also thought it when he saw my review, although that is a fact since he also told me that he loves me! :D

So here are some pictures of my beard and also twitter stuff.
                                                                     What a hunk!

This is Guy (Pronounced in the french way)  Handsome

Yup I even made a nice full under beard/neck beard

The Forest is That Way!

Who does not want to cradle their own beard? Also my beard likes to make shapes such as a poodle, this was not done on purpose...beards are magical.

My name on Twitter is Tyreta. He said "Impressive Work!" He was impressed by my BEARD!

RETWEETED!

Paintings

I have had these pantings kicking around that I have done a while ago, I never paint any more and it makes me sad because I enjoy doing so but I also am enjoying what I am doing right now so everything is great. When I get more time to do my own stuff I shall paint some more. I did one over the winter break for a friend but I do not have a photo but I shall post it later. It was fun to do and made me miss it even more. So here are some paintings that I have done in the past:

The top one I did for a show that my friends were having in 2009. It is done with acrylic ink and on wood panel.
I have already posted the bird but here it is again. Wood Panel, Graphit, Fineliner, Japanese Paper. 2011
The 3rd one is a paper cut out I did I want to add more to it but there it is so far. Wood Panel, Japanese Paper, and Pan Pastel. 2011
I love wood panels and I have too many that I have yet to use but I cannot help but buy them
I told a friend that I would paint a picture for her but then ended up not and changing my idea and then keeping it for myself. Here is the out come I enjoy it and don't really have any thing behind it but it kept me busy. I did it in the summer of 2009. Water based Oil on Canvas.
This was just me mucking around it is not finished and I don't think would ever be done it, I started it probably in 2008 and just kind of worked on it here and there. I like it but yeah just some experimenting. Water based Oil on Canvas.
This was suposed to be my motovational painting in which I never finished and don't think I can finish due to the fact it has now turned into a joke. I got the idea from the show Wonderfalls which is a great show you should check it out if you don't know about it. A plastic lawn flamingo tells the main charter to get off her ass and I need to due that some time.  It is Acrylic on Canvas. Probably from 2008 or 2009
This Is a finished piece WHAT?! anyway I like it a lot. I did it in 2009 I painted a lot back then.  Water based Oil on Illustration Board.

There are some of my paintings from the past I have done more but not a whole lot I will have to scrounge some more up and post them eventually.

Sarah Dee is Awesome.

I have decided to take a break from homework and blog a bit. I have been on the computer for all day well the afternoon in the morning we were learning how to bead with out a loom kind of things. I cought on quick and my teacher said it was due to my graphic design brain and it scared her. Then I started working on my digital design for the project I have been working on and then she told me I scared her a few times that day with how AWESOME I am, and how everyone is going to want my designs on there fabric. It is all secretive though and she did help me pick my brain and get my pattern getting even more great. Anyhoo enough of me and how great I am.

I crocheted this hat for my friend for christmas but she just got it because at Christmas I ran out of yarn but I was able to scrounge up some more and finish it and it got to her eventually. So here is Jenna with the hat on.

A New Semester of Lasts

Dear Devoted Readers of the Sarah Dee Does Art BlogSpot Blog of Sarah Dee's Art of All Kinds:

I have not posted for a while because I am busy and I have not toted a camera around with me as of late when I am doing things that should be taken photos of with cameras. So I use Sister Valentine's camera she is prepared and good with the photo taking. Anyway so I did bed sheets they are pretty awesome and cute! I shall post pictures of that later when I am prepared and have the photos because I took photos from the camera of Sister Valentine of that project but forgot to get them when I was getting the pictures for this project. So I will back track at a later date for the bedsheets and keep you in suspense. Anywho I took photos of what I am doing now for this new and last project of  my college experience until I decide to go back to college at a later date in life if I decide to do so.  I only took these because a camera was left unattended and I thought I should take pictures so all of you lovely Sarah Dee fans could check out what I am doing with my time instead of hanging out with you. (The camera that was unatteneded belonged to Sister Valentine)

My My Here Come The FUZZ!

This is a picture of me watching Hot Fuzz for my 1 Year anniversary of my Simon Pegg twitter Hot Fuzz You tube encounter and also my Edgar Wright encounter although this was on the Simon Pegg day and not the Edgar Wright day but it all happened in the same week. If you don't know the story look for my Fall of 2010 song in my previous posting and you will know what went on through song and to the tune of Summer of 69, it works out good and is excellent. If you want to see the video in which Simon Pegg saw and loved then you should click here! So here is me watching Hot Fuzz eating Cornetto  just like Danny Butterman and Nicholas Angel. While also wearing my Doris Thatcher Fuzz Hat. Notice my pimento olive eyes of Hot Fuzz wonder.

Best Summer Ever!

This is from my favourite day in Oakville so far! It was the summer of 2009 and it was a good day. We walked threw the forest and in the river and climbed a cliff and made a fire and had so much fun. Shane Parent took pictures of the day and I finally have made them into gifs that were much needed!!

Check out these guys's blogs too!!!  Nathan Jamieson and Jack Lesarge

Lazor Cuts

For our digital class we had to come up with a design that would work with laser cut outs. I got a bit carried away and did more then needed but I shall pick one to do the rest of the project with, unfortunately we wont be actually getting them cut. So here are pieces of the ones that I have designed. The while would be the cut out part leaving the black behind.

Burrs (inorder to find out how to spell this I had to look up velcro in wikipedia)

So I went to the forest with Shaela to sit by the streem and drink tea and in order to get down into the stream I had to go past a big burr bush in which burrs stuck all over me and in my hair which happened to be in the perfect head band looking shape and came in handy to keep my bangs out of my eyes. I then went threw the bush again and milk weed went into it to make it pretty.

bookhou.

Bookhou is a store located in Toronto owned by Arounna and her husband. She has a bunch of super cute things to sell which happens to be texitley. In my first year of textiles she came into the studio and took pictures of our work being worked on. Which she then put up on her blog which featured my pine cone design in printing progress. The link to her blog is (click here) and if you scroll down a bit you will be able to check out Sarah Davies' Pine Cone Print, you should also check out the comments people are digging the cones!

Insert Design Here

Well I went to my favorite place in the world... David's Tea and I got a travel mug where you can put your own pictures and designs and what not in side the cup and show the world your summer vacation or your dog. I decided to put in a design that I designed and traced out a bunch and then coloured in with pencil crayons here it is....

Warm Heads

I got a youtube link from the grandmum of crochet Sister Valentine  that teaches you to crochet hats. So I thought I would try it out, this is my second attempt at crochet. I ended up using the left over yarn I had from my blanket and other scraps I found here and there. It is mostly just a sample practice piece and I shall do a good copy very soon most likely followed by a whole lot more. It took me just under 3 hours to do the whole thing.
