My My Here Come The FUZZ!

This is a picture of me watching Hot Fuzz for my 1 Year anniversary of my Simon Pegg twitter Hot Fuzz You tube encounter and also my Edgar Wright encounter although this was on the Simon Pegg day and not the Edgar Wright day but it all happened in the same week. If you don't know the story look for my Fall of 2010 song in my previous posting and you will know what went on through song and to the tune of Summer of 69, it works out good and is excellent. If you want to see the video in which Simon Pegg saw and loved then you should click here! So here is me watching Hot Fuzz eating Cornetto  just like Danny Butterman and Nicholas Angel. While also wearing my Doris Thatcher Fuzz Hat. Notice my pimento olive eyes of Hot Fuzz wonder.

Best Summer Ever!

This is from my favourite day in Oakville so far! It was the summer of 2009 and it was a good day. We walked threw the forest and in the river and climbed a cliff and made a fire and had so much fun. Shane Parent took pictures of the day and I finally have made them into gifs that were much needed!!

Check out these guys's blogs too!!!  Nathan Jamieson and Jack Lesarge

Lazor Cuts

For our digital class we had to come up with a design that would work with laser cut outs. I got a bit carried away and did more then needed but I shall pick one to do the rest of the project with, unfortunately we wont be actually getting them cut. So here are pieces of the ones that I have designed. The while would be the cut out part leaving the black behind.

In our digital class our first project to do was to make hang tags for merchandise or what not that we might be selling or just promotion. With our name  and or shoppe name and or contact info and or website blog info. So this is the one that I made for me!

Burrs (inorder to find out how to spell this I had to look up velcro in wikipedia)

So I went to the forest with Shaela to sit by the streem and drink tea and in order to get down into the stream I had to go past a big burr bush in which burrs stuck all over me and in my hair which happened to be in the perfect head band looking shape and came in handy to keep my bangs out of my eyes. I then went threw the bush again and milk weed went into it to make it pretty.

bookhou.

Bookhou is a store located in Toronto owned by Arounna and her husband. She has a bunch of super cute things to sell which happens to be texitley. In my first year of textiles she came into the studio and took pictures of our work being worked on. Which she then put up on her blog which featured my pine cone design in printing progress. The link to her blog is (click here) and if you scroll down a bit you will be able to check out Sarah Davies' Pine Cone Print, you should also check out the comments people are digging the cones!

Insert Design Here

Well I went to my favorite place in the world... David's Tea and I got a travel mug where you can put your own pictures and designs and what not in side the cup and show the world your summer vacation or your dog. I decided to put in a design that I designed and traced out a bunch and then coloured in with pencil crayons here it is....

Warm Heads

I got a youtube link from the grandmum of crochet Sister Valentine  that teaches you to crochet hats. So I thought I would try it out, this is my second attempt at crochet. I ended up using the left over yarn I had from my blanket and other scraps I found here and there. It is mostly just a sample practice piece and I shall do a good copy very soon most likely followed by a whole lot more. It took me just under 3 hours to do the whole thing.

Embroidery and Silk Screening

For my cousin's wedding in January I wanted to make her pillows. I had a screen already done from a previous project that I wanted to do that of course I never got done because it is me but I did use it on a shirt. Anyway to put it on the screen I used the drawing fluid and my lines where not too solid. After I printed it I realized that the lines did not look so good so I then decided to only make one pillow and embroider  the outline. It was over the winter break and I spent 40 hours just embroidering it and watching 30 Rock.

Crochet...I'm HOOKED!

I finished my first crochet project ever! So as I said in my other post I have started to crochet thanks to my boss. About a month a go give or take I started on this afagin made out of a bunch of granny squares. It kept me busy and I enjoyed it a whole bunch. I caught on to it pretty fast but near the end I was able to get one done pretty fast and have them look good. Every morning I would make a bowl of Red River Cereal and watch Ellen, Road to Avonlea and Corner Gas while crocheting to start off my day. Sometimes I would go further with my crocheting and television watching. Then after my day was over I would finish it with a crochet once in awhile. I cannot wait for my next crocheting project, I just might get addicted.

Still have to work on my joining a bit better with the different colours and what not but it is my first and I am very happy with the out come!

So what better to do then rewrite Bryan Adam's Summer of 69 to fit my Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright encounters. Since all of you have not heard enough about it yet you have to hear me sing about it!!!!!!!!!!
I hope you enjoy but I know you will!

The Humans Are Dead

The other week my old roommate and good pal Jack had a birthday party in which the theme was Machines/Robots. Knowing that I was a disappointment to everybody the last two theme party which were Dinosaurs and make your own costume out of what ever you got, I knew I had to step it up for this party. So I decided to be a Jemaine-Bot and dress up as they do in Flight of The Concords which included prefelted wool side burns, cardboard body, drier venter things (robot arms) and a TFU trampstamp a homage to the Simon Pegg/Nick Frost/Jessica Stevenson (Hynes)/Edgar Wright show Spaced. The pictures taken of the robot party are by Shane Parent he is a excellent photographer! You should check out his tumblr!!!!!! Shane Parent Photography

SUMMER

To my devoted fans of Sarah Dee Does Art especially my biggest fan Mister Mike Trainor:
I am sorry that I have not posted much in a while but my computer was broken and I got lazy and did not make anything new to put up or could put up the old stuff due to the fact of my out of order computer. Although now you can see that I have gotten my computer up and running once again and now I shall post more things. This summer has been good so far I have a bunch of ideas for stuff to do but have not finished or done a whole lot since I am still in the mode of I have all summer even if it is going hella fast. Anyway I have worked one stuff not finished much but started. I have recently learned how to crochet thanks to my Bossome (Boss + Awesome) due to the fact that she is so awesome. So I have been working my crochet hook hard and making a bunch of granny squares which then will all be connected and made into a poypul afghan.

So yes I finished something I guess you would call it an illustration of a boyd in a tree on wood panel. Here are the pictures of it. I was unable to get a lot or pick from a good selection due to the fact of how my rechargeable batteries do not like to be recharged and only like to take three photos. One was no good and the other two get the point across. If my batteries decide to behave or I decide to buy new batteries I shall up load more but for now here you go!

Bird wrapped with Japanese paper and the tree wraps around all sides of the panel.

Blog o' Bags

For our first project of our second semester in textiles this year we had a project in which we had to create a series of bags. It was pretty open to anything but you had to have three. So I desided to make bags out of embroidery hoops. The hoops would make the sides of the bags and then I was able to embroider on the the outside for the decorative component. The lovely Sister Valentine found me some sweet embroidery hoops from our favorite second hand stores.I then decided to use different sayings from different types of media such as my favorite television show, one of my favorite songs, and one of my favorite movies. I am also an old lady at heart and what else is better then embroidery by an old lady with bags that make a story with good quotes so my story to go along with the bags was. "Now all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, so go out and take a walk on the wild side but don't you spread for roses." Says Old Lady Dee (Insert other name here if you are in on that joke if not then you are missing out but do not need to know) So here are my bags!
